The light flickered against the smoke in the still of night. Behind closed doors in the quiet moments when the world sleeps, another world awakens. It is here, in the shadows of solitude, that we find truth and reflection.
This rendezvous between myself and the scene unfolding is a private one, a glimpse of fleeting gestures and intimate details that speak to the fluid nature of existence. Nothing is permanent, even in settings we think familiar. Places take on new character as circumstances change, and people are ever transforming in mind and heart with the passage of each day. Here a woman pauses amid the movement to take quiet account of moments gone and those yet approaching, as the half-eaten meal shows the interrupted flow of life continually remaking itself.
It is my hope that viewers see beyond the surface images and into meanings deeper yet subtly implied. This is not a record of one isolated rendezvous alone but a meditation on the variable quality inherent to all experience. However solid the architecture enclosing this scene, the true architecture of experience consists in ongoing renewal - nothing remains as it was or continues unchanged. If we open our eyes to it, beauty and truth can be found within life's transience, in its poetic mystery of fleeting impermanence. This private glimpse invites us to our own reflection on transformation and the nature of moments passing between darkness and light.
