The connection was severed, yet still he longed to reach beyond. In solitude the mind wanders where it will, exploring shores of thought none other sees. Here in isolation one finds both freedom and fears - freedom to envision worlds without constraints, yet fear that one's visions may forever be alone.
This piece is a meditation on that place between belonging and loneliness, communion and isolation, where the mind dares go where none other walks. In each of us resides vast internal landscapes waiting to unfold, ideas that dance beyond the ordinary, wonders that elude explanation. Yet to share such mysteries seems to many like speaking in tongues - and so we censor that which makes us different, fearing the exposure may sever the last fragile threads tying us to the familiar.
It is my hope that in glimpsing this private moment, viewers might reflect on the profound diversity within our perceived conformity, and gain compassion for those whose thoughts color outside accepted lines. In a world ever more connected by distance yet divided by superficial things, perhaps we might each reach beyond ourselves to understand another is not strange but simply sees from a vantage unknown to us. And who knows what undiscovered country of the mind we might find, if only we dare sever our own restraints and walk where another has been alone.
