There are things I could not afford; losing the people I didn’t have was one of those things. People pleasing, one may say, but if I shut the door, if I pulled the rug, who would remain? Now, not to say anything goes, but winning hearts really seems a better deal than the feeling of having a superior argument, one that seals the conversation. Such depravity to lose the little ducks in the yard over a fleeting feel of “I am right.” fell into that mire a few times. I hope to read the signs a bit better as I journey as we journey. This painting was made to relay this thoughts: Rather win hearts than win arguments.
