So why do I paint? Why do I stretch a canvas, prime, texture and lay strokes upon strokes until the canvas screams back at me? I attended an art fair two months before this painting was made and encountered a particular art piece. The peace I felt from looking at that piece, I believe I am yet to recover from it. It reminded me yet again of the power of art; to paint out some energy, divergent as it may be. Being confident someone somewhere finds it enchanting and does to them much more than music does to the soul. This is where this painting came from. I may have titled this peace from the peace.
