Crux of doubt, head battered, last painting of the series very bare yet very personal. The bare look shows the state of mind from which the painting was made. This painting does not tilt towards giving up like some of my studio visitors suspected. This is more like the eagle hibernating concept, where you retreat to emerge with some freshness. I like to make paintings that really wrap around contemporary happenstances, not so much historical, because what happens today is what becomes history tomorrow.
